Aconitum napellus subsp. napellus Anglicum Group Hardy, variable upright perennial to 80cm. Dark green finely cut foliage is a good background for pale mauve-blue hooded flowers which appear in May. Cool, moist fertile soil in part shade. Poisonous
Adenophora bulleyana Hardy, upright perennial to 1.3m. Nodding, narrowly funnel- shaped pale to mid-blue flowers are produced in late summer. Leafy, moist but well drained soil in sun or part shade.
Aegopodium podagraria 'Variegata' Hardy, invasive perennial to 40cm. Flowers creamy white in early summer. Green and creamy white variegated foliage gives good ground cover on poor soils in shady areas where little else will grow. Plant with care either in containers or on impoverished sites.
Ajuga incisa 'Blue Enigma' Hardy, deciduous perennial to 30cm. Most of the nettle like leaves develop after large deep blue flowers appear in April. Fertile, humus rich, well drained soil in sun or part shade. Good ground cover under deciduous trees.
